MEDIA INFORMATION
Soda Blasting The blasting process removes build up of paint, primer, grease, grime, mold and mildew, and other contaminants, yet it will not damage glass, rubber, plastic or chrome since it is non-abrasive (sandblasting "cleans" by wearing away the surface). The soda is easily swept, vacuumed or washed away with water. The residue provides a film coating which protects metal surfaces from "flash rusting". The item can then be stored for extended periods before re-coating. These surfaces require vinegar or citrus based cleaners mixed with water to prepare for re-coating. Recycled Glass Typically applied after soda, this method is used when rust removal is required in small areas prior to repairs. Non recommended for entire panels as it may create minimal profiling or uneven surfaces. Corn Cob Blasting Similar to soda blasting but without the PH factor. Walnut Shell |
